Welcome to Weekend Writing Warriors!
It's time for snips and bits of amazing tales by talented
writers! Weekend Writing Warriors is a weekly bloghop. Each week,
participants sign up HERE
at wewriwa.com, then post 8 to 10 sentences of their work, published or
unpublished, on their own blog to go live by 9:00 AM Sunday,
EST. Then we visit each
other and read, comment, critique, encourage--all those things that do a
solitary writer's heart good.

This week's snippet is from "The Sands of Dhor". Lily, abducted from Earth by alien slavers, is with Theusand (not a slaver--an apparent rescuer) has just told her that Earth was destroyed and her husband and children are dead.
This week's snippet picks up directly from last week's--which ended
with: “
Her goal to get back home was all she'd been clinging to since the
filthy slavers grabbed her and dragged her off into space.” Her reaction continues this week:Snippet Sunday group from facebook--not us, but many of our participants do both, can be found HERE

God above, it hurt like nothing else in
her life ever had. If she could find a way outside the ship, she’d do it--step
out there among the stars, minus any protective suit, and the universe could
have her.
That's it for this week. All
opinions greatly appreciated. :-) Thank you so much for visiting and for commenting!
Strong
hands gathered her up and held her. She didn’t have the strength to push him
away. She didn’t even try to close her mind to him. What did it matter? He was welcome to her
anguish. She cried until she had nothing left. She'd found the end.
Then, in the way of the universe that few accept until it is thrust in front of them, she discovered that the end is merely a place where the new beginning starts.

That closes this chapter of the book.
