This snippet is from Emmily, Unbound, an SFR story. To read a compilation of all snippets posted for this story, click Here: Emmily Unbound, Chapters 1 & 2 Emmily, the main character, has lost pretty much everything in the last twelve months: her marriage, her parents, her job, and her house. She and her dog, Murphy, have moved to the mountains of Pennsylvania into an old, remote, hunting camp her parents willed to her. On her first day there, along a desolate road she's been forced at gunpoint to haul a wounded man to her house.
Oh, and he might think the glitter is just not a good look on him either.
Anyway, the clothes are a start. Maybe these guys will be gone before they need more.
Now, the snippet:
The grocery store is
next. I didn’t have time to finish my list so Kade and I are shopping on the
fly. He’s sorting through the produce. Damn,
he looks amazing in the pullover he just changed into. Dark blue. Manly.
I snicker, picturing the pink shirt again. As far as Kade? He’d probably look
nice in anything though. Lucky mate of his…
That's the snippet. If you'd like to read a few more to complete her thought, read on.
Her mind is starting to move in ways that are very promising for your story!
ReplyDeleteShe's a goner if she thinks he looks good in anything ;-) nice snippet.
ReplyDeleteOh, I like where this is heading. :D Excellent snippet, my friend!
ReplyDeleteWell she seems to be warming up to Kade at least. Was there more to the snippet? I didn't see it (and really wanted to finish her thought!). Great snippet!
ReplyDeleteThat lost thought of hers...oh yeah, she's a goner. ;)
ReplyDeleteAre you sure she's not ending up with Kade? This whole 'alien abduction' adventure of hers is certainly going down different paths...to the grocery store LOL!
ReplyDeleteKade might look good but it's the ones we tease that we secretly like, right?
ReplyDeleteThey all seem to be growing on her, especially Kade. I wonder if she realizes the change in her thoughts. Great snippet!
ReplyDeleteWell, her mood seems to have improved with that bit of sartorial sabotage :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed the snippet. She definitely can't keep from thinking about possibilities of him.
ReplyDeleteShe seems to have an affinity for Kade.
ReplyDeleteShe is definitely aware of him in a more promising way of romance. :)
ReplyDeleteSometimes shopping with a companion is enjoyable. My shopping companion is my son. He's very pragmatic and cost-conscious, which is mostly good but frustrates the part of me that wants shopping to be fun.
ReplyDeleteI've never been shopping with someone that I was romantically interested in. I think it might be distracting.
The food bank gave us an 18-pound turkey, which is very generous, but it's way too much food. I was hoping it would just be a turkey breast. I'm slow-roasting it overnight on Wednesday, then my son and I will take it over to my mother's house for lunch on Thanksgiving. We're still going to have turkey for ages.
Hmm, I wonder how he's feeling about her? Does he even notice her the way she's noticing him?
