Welcome to my first post for Saturday's Critters hosted by Viewing Nature with Eileen. Click on that link to find other nature watchers' photos.
A hawk circling the farm a few days ago... This guy was out quite a ways when I spotted him. I zoomed to see what I was looking at.
Took it's time, riding the thermals, circling ever closer...
A low-pressure system was breaking up and moving away, so there were ominous charcoal billows interspersed with bits of blue sky. Here, we get a glimpse of color from the underside.
And maybe a blush of the red on its tail? Maybe my old eyes are playing tricks on me. lol
It got close enough to check me out--along with my furry companions which it likely judged to be too big to try to swoop down and carry off...
My companions...
I know... Needless to say, with companions like that, most nature is long-gone or well-hidden before we come into view. But I do enjoy what I manage to see. :-)
Happy Mother's Day--and have a great week. ~Teresa
Hello, I love watching the hawks and vultures soaring in the sky. Your companions are so cute. I am a dog lover, cute pups. Great series of photos. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Enjoy your day, wishing you a happy weekend. PS, thank you for the visit and comment.
ReplyDeleteNice captures of the hawk. You have a lovely group of companions that seem to be patient for you to catch up. They'll be training you further so you won't fall behind again. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment. Have a wonderful week and stay safe.
Love the hawk photos. Incredible creatures. I will follow your blog.
ReplyDeleteOh I like your companions! Always fun to walk with them! Enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteLovely pups!
ReplyDeleteNice pics, Teresa. We sometimes have eagles circling our neighborhood, and they'd steer clear of the dogs but they'd easily make off with one of our cats if they had the chance. Luckily we're surrounded by tall trees so they don't get down into our yard.
ReplyDeleteI remember watching eagle do the same thermal climb when I lived on the island I'm using as the setting for my Weekend Writing Warrior snippets.
ReplyDeleteYou got some very nice in-flight shots. I rarely get a good one. Cute pups!
ReplyDeleteI like watching hawks ...I swear they “play” ... just soaring and swooping for the fun of it. Your camera eye is great ... when I try to get flight shots I end up with a lot of pictures of sky (or as I call it, where the birds used to be).
